My belated end of year show...in Ballet and Belly Dancing!

Hello my lovely darlings! Its been so excitingly busy lately…but I have certainly missed you and can't wait till I can tell you darlings more about my new venture. I have just returned jetlagged from Seattle and have a few travel posts as well as Cheongsam (Qipao) reviews in the pipe-line....and not to forget the impending 'Shine Walk' on a September Saturday night still to do. Though for now I thought it might be nice to do a little feature of my very belatedend of year show; which includers those of summer 2013 to the more recent summer 2014. Some of you darlings might know that I have been taking a beginner’s ballet class for a while now and an intermediate belly dancing class too. So at the end of year show at Brady Arts Centre, a community theatre where family and friends of the dance students are invited to watch the little performance, I participated in both ballet and belly dancing. So let's start by catching up with the year before....

London Hot-Spot: Loving tulips...at the beautiful Chelsea Flower Show 2014!

Thank you darlings for the warm welcome to the new 'Qipao LoveR' series; which I hope will empower ladies to wear the Qipao (Cheongsam) they love without fear...and of course celebrate the beauty of this wonderful garment that has sailed through the decades. After all true love should always be celebrated! One of the lovely treats I received for my birthday back in May, and indeed another love to be admired, was some special tickets to the gorgeous and sought after event of the year in London.....Chelsea Flower Show 2014! Excited, as I had never been before but always wanted to go, I dashed over to the Chelsea Royal Hospital grounds after work. It was early summer, the weather improved with sunshine through the late afternoon and it was warm enough to wander around the floral wonderland without a jacket....in other words it was the best time to go flower watching! Dressed in a simple cotton lilac shift dress from Asos, pretty blue Clarks brogues fit for the office and cute mon…

As promised in my last post, it is now time to launch the exciting new series called "Qipao LoveR"; to follow the 'Qipao Love (All about the Qipao)' series. After being crowned Queen of Vintage number 155 (here) a little while ago, I felt really honoured I was openly considered part of the global vintage loving world and the excitement kept me buzzing on a natural high for days. Truth is I have never been to fashion or beauty school, am not a model, more niche than mainstream vintage in style, have no great style award or big magazine column to brag about and often find myself just taking the D.I.Y (do it yourself) approach to mold different vintage styles into my own style. Being just like any other person who has turned a passion into a real part of her life, I wanted to pass on that buzz of excitement to others who love the Qipao or Cheongsam....because I know there are many of you out there in the big wide world and it is not always easy to celebrate your love fo…
